Haohong Wang
is the General Manager of TCL Research America, the North America’s research
arm of TCL Corporation, at Santa Clara, California. Prior
to joining TCL, he held various technical and management positions at AT&T,
Catapult Communications, Qualcomm, Marvell, and Cisco. Dr. Wang's research
involves the areas of multimedia computing and communications, data mining and
recommender systems. He has published more than 50 articles in
peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He is the inventor of
more than 50 patents and pending applications. He is the co-author of 3D Visual
Communications (John Wiley & Sons, 2013), 4G Wireless Video Communications
(John Wiley & Sons, 2009), and Computer Graphics (1997). He received his
Ph.D. from Northwestern University, Evanston, USA.
Dr. Wang is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Communications (2008- ), a Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA) (2013- ), a Co-Chair of the IEEE SMC Technical Committee on Human Perception and Multimedia Computing (2012-), and the Chair of the Steering Committee of International Conference on Computing, Networking and Communications (2011-). Dr. Wang served as the General Chair of IEEE ICME 2011 (Barcelona), IEEE ICCCN 2011 (Maui) and IEEE ICCCN 2008 (US Virgin Island), and as the TPC Chair of IEEE GLOBECOME 2010 (Miami) and many others. He chaired the IEEE Multimedia Communications Technical Committee (2010-2012), and has been a member of the Steering Committee of IEEE Transaction on Multimedia (2010-2013) and IEEE ICME conference (2010-2012), and an Editor of many journals. Dr. Wang has received many honors including the Distinguished Service Award by IEEE ComSoc MMTC in 2013. |
